◊◊◊◊ Winter’s back ! When I woke up this morning and that I saw all this snow, I enjoyed to wear my new beanie ! ◊◊◊◊ This hat is so simple and yet so clever because it’s reversible and that’s really lovely because it’s really cold outside ! ◊◊◊◊ This pattern was the perfect occasion to test this yarn named « Fado » of Fonty. I wanted to knit it since such a long time. I really loved it, this yarn is really lovely to knit, it’s really warm too (well that’s a merino’s wool) but I really do love the fact that this is an untreated yarn. You could even find occasionally some straw. ◊◊◊◊ There are two different versions of this pattern : Mino-Mino (the one that I’ve chosen) with both sides on stockinette stitches and Mino-Nomi with one side in stockinette stitches and the other side in rib. I do love Yuki H.S. patterns because she always designs them in a such simple way and it’s so easy to make some modifications too ! A real pleasure every time ! Here’s another thing that I love too : All the proceeds of this pattern are donated to the Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University in memory of her late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. So the scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. To meet Mino and know his workPlease visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU and Nimara & Japarta Facebook page to discovering Yuki’s designs ! ◊◊◊◊ A simple pattern, quickly knitted, warm and lovely, what more could I ask !! Do you like it too ? Mino-Nomi Reversible Hat by Nimara & Japarta Skill Level : ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Yarn : Fonty Fado / Colour #660 - White & #663 - Brown 100 g / 272 yards - 248 m Needle Size US 8 / 5 mm

Pour palier à ce manque, j’ai décide de faire le modèle : That’s maybe because I couldn’t dive into the sea this summer that I desperately needed of blue. So in order to make up for this lack of sea, I’ve decided to knit this pattern : « Rosebud » by Jared Flood Skill Level : ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Le modèle est très agréable à tricoter pour ne pas dire addictif et monte vraiment très vite ! This pattern is really lovely and quick to knit, to not say very addictive !! That’s incredibly well written and edited, I’m very fond of Jared Flood’s increases and diminution’s techniques who are hidden in the cable making them invisible ! I had 2 skeins of Drops « Nepal » in my stash who needed a project to be used. That’s was it ! The yardage and the gauge matched or at least almost perfectly ! I missed about 1/3 of a third skein in order to knit the slouchy version. So I run into my local store (l’Atelier) to fill up my stash to finish my hat and to knit (soon) a cowl to go with it. Once again, I’ve used the « Twisted German Cast On » method who’s going to be my favorite one’s ! This yarn is soft and cosy but maybe is a little bit wimp when I compare it with the Brooklyn Tweed Shelter. I have the feeling that my slouch is slumping more than on the design’s photos. Did you notice that too with the Nepal from Drops ? I still not have any photos of me wearing it but I’m sure I will have some soon ! Rosebud by Jared Flood Skill Level : ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Yarn : Drops - Nepal - Colour #6220 165 m / 180.4 yards - Needle : 4 et 5 mm / US 6 - US 8

Yukimi is coming from the last Twist Collective winter 2011. It is constructed from crown to brim with DPN needles. I’m really fond of circular’s one but working leaf lace motif with magic loop can be really tricky. I love this beanie, this colour but it doesn’t fit me ! It’s too small, too tight and when I’m wearing it, it looks like a swimming cap ! That’s because I’ve chosen the wrong yarn for this pattern. There is a certain lack of body… Well I guess that I just have to knit it again with another yarn !
